Bio-based Industries ConsortiumThe Bio-based Industries Initiative is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between the European Commission and the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC). The European Commission’s proposal for Horizon 2020 and the Strategy and Action Plan for a Sustainable Bioeconomy in Europe mention the use of public- private partnerships (PPP’s) in the form of a Joint Technology Initiative (JTI) for bio-based industries.
BIOFOREVERBIOFOREVER (BIO-based products from FORestry via Economically Viable European Routes) is an European project to demonstrate the feasibility of conversion of lignocellulosic feedstocks like wood into chemical building blocks and high added value products.
The BIOFOREVER project consortium consists of 14 European companies. The project runs 3 years from September 2016 - September 2019 with a total investment of 16 million euro.
The project objective is the technical and economical demonstration of 5 different value chains from feedstock to final product. BPF plays an important part in demonstration of the technologies on pilot scale.
AgrimaxBPF is partner in the EU project Agrimax, which focusses on agri- and food waste valorisation based on biorefinery processing technologies for new high added value applications. Residues and by products from the culture and processing of
tomato, cereals, olives and potatoes are used.
Agrimax will develop two pilot processing plants and use them to demonstrate the technical and commercial feasibility of extracting high-value compounds from agricultural and food processing waste. By applying them sequentially, Agrimax will produce a cascade of bio-based compounds such as: packaging, food and agricultural materials.
BioCatPolymersBPF is part of the EU project BioCatPolymers. A 3-year project in which the whole value chain from feedstock to polymer will be demonstrated.
BPF is proud to do the scale-up of this project, which will involve hydrolysis, fermentation and downstream processing.
In the consortium BPF collaborates with 6 partners from all over Europe. They are: CERTH (Greece), Visolis (UK/USA/Netherlands), SEKAB (Sweden), PDC (Netherlands), Quantis (Switzerland) and Covestro (Germany).
